Canadian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Ukraine Abina Dann and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Foreign Relations Committee Vitaliy Shybko visited the Canadian - Ukrainian Parliamentary Information Centre at the National Parliamentary Library of Ukraine by invitation from the Canadian Society of Ukraine's Friends.
Canadian Society's executive director Lesia Shymko briefed the visitors about the centre’s activities. She states that the organizers take pride in providing unbiased, impartial, confidential and non-partisan information to support Ukrainian lawmakers' activities.
During the familiarization tour Olena Pohrebna, superintendent of the Verkhovna Rada's informational support division, demonstrated the centre’s database "Politics and Politicians of Ukraine as Mirrored by Periodicals".
The Canadian - Ukrainian Parliamentary Information Centre opened on November 16, 2000. Its establishment was supported by the Canadian Government and the Canadian Agency for International Development.
