The State Department of Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine intends to stage a final inspection of meat processing enterprises of Moldova after veterinary control matters are adjusted, as Agrarian Minister Yuri Melnyk declared after negotiations with his Moldovan counterpart Anatoly Gorodenko, Cabinet's press office reported.

According to the veterinary service, in July Ukrainian inspectors checked eight meat processing enterprises of Moldova and revealed several drawbacks.

Ukraine is concerned over the fact that Moldova imports meat from countries, whose meat import is banned in Ukraine. Thus, Ukraine needs guarantees that Moldova will import to Ukraine only meat and meat articles of its domestic manufacture.

On March 26 the Ukrainian veterinary service imposed temporary ban on imports of meat and meat articles from Poland, Belarus and Moldova in connection with numerous accidents of lack of necessary documents with supplies.
