Ukraine's PM: Party of Regions does't give up its election promises

As Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych told Russian journalists in Sochi, he doesn't mean to give up the idea of enhancing the status of the Russian language. “I've never stated we give up our election promises,” the Premier said, “Party of Regions will press for making the Russian language the second state language.”

As Yanukovych explained, the parliamentary coalition of the Regions Party, the Socialist Party and the Communist Party (the issue of "Our Ukraine" joining the coalition has not been yet officially settled) has failed to constitute the constitutional majority of 300 votes so far. Thus, the issue is impossible to settle now.
