Ukraine to mark new holiday - Day of National Flag

The President's adviser, chief of the main service for humanitarian policies of the Presidential Secretariat Markian Lubkivsky told a Tuesday news briefing that celebration of Independence Day, which is traditionally marked on August 24, will start this year earlier, on August 23. For the first time Ukraine will mark a new holiday, Day of National Flag, introduced by a presidential decree.

Lubkivsky said that the Ukrainian authorities offer citizens of Ukraine to actively support a new tradition and to decorate their flats and courtyards with the national flag.
