The Ukrainian government will no way allow transition of the Ukrainian gas transportation system to any other states. “As long as I am in office, this system will remain in Ukraine's property,” Yanukovych told journalists on Monday.

Russian Gazprom repeatedly proposes Ukraine to likely lower gas prices, if the Ukrainian gas transportation system is headed and managed by Gazprom's.

Still, the Ukrainian Prime Minister didn't rule out involvement of other states in construction of new gas transportation routes and reconstruction of the active gas transportation system of Ukraine. “The reconstruction of the system is another issue, and we mean to invite partners irrespectively of the country,” the Prime Minister said.

Yanukovych is supposed to pay a visit to Sochi, Russia on Tuesday, where he means to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Uzbek President Islam Karimov, who are to take part in a summit of the EurAsEC (Eurasian Economic Community).

Earlier the Premier stated Ukraine's intention to develop oil and gas fields in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russia. As Viktor Yanukovych noted, reduction of prices for Turkmen gas, imported by Ukraine, could be reached through reconstruction of the pipeline system in Uzbekistan.
