Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel heartily congratulated Victor Yanukovych on his appointment as Prime Minister of Ukraine, as press office of the federal government informed.
In the delivered congratulation telegram Merkel wished her Ukrainian colleague every success and luck for realization of assigned tasks.
“Germany is interested in independent, stable and democratic Ukraine, formed by principle of lawful state,” Merkel declared. She promised to contribute support to Ukraine in its aspiration to follow democratic reforms and intensify cooperation with Euro-Atlantic structures.
