Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Moroz opened morning session of the parliament. 290 deputies were registered in the hall.

President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko plans to take part in the ceremony of approval of Prime Minister of Ukraine and swearing in judges of the Constitutional court.

In an interview with Ukraine’s leading television channels, Victor Yushchenko said the constitutional court would be convened on August 4.

When asked which issues the court would consider first, the President replied: “First of all, it will be the discussion regarding the continuation of constitutional reform. By the way, we discussed it at the roundtable and have repeatedly broached this subject during private conversations.”

He added that the recent parliamentary crisis was “one of the manifestations of the introduced reform.”

Yushchenko said there were many other problems to tackle. “We hold discussions about integration for hours but there is no chapter in the Constitution stipulating procedures to give away sovereign rights concerning trade, tariff, insurance or any other policy in the framework of integration,” he said.
