Victor Yushchenko met with U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor, president's press office reported.
The President spelled out his vision of the settlement of the parliamentary crisis. He said the major achievement of the so-called National Unity Pact, which Ukraine's political leaders are expected to sign today, was the preservation of Ukraine’s domestic and foreign policies and its reforms.
Yushchenko and Mr. Taylor also discussed bilateral relations between Ukraine and the United States. They agreed the two countries should build closer economic ties. The Head of State reiterated Ukraine regarded the European Union, the United States and Russia as its major strategic partners.
