The European Commission imposed anti-dumping duties for seamless pipes originating from Ukraine, Croatia, Romania and Russia.

On June 27, the EU member states adopted a regulation designed to protect the EU steel firms from cheap competition by Romanian, Ukrainian, Croatian and Russian companies.

Ukraine got 12.3-25.7% of anti-dumping duty, Russia – 24.1%, Romania – 11.7-17.8% and Croatia – 29.8%.

The duty for Ukraine is imposed for five years.

The move follows an investigation by the European Commission into complaints by EU producers that their eastern competitors are selling seamless pipes and tubes - used for example in the oil and chemicals industries - on the EU market at "dumping" prices.
