“I want to remind you that when Tymoshenko’s Premiership, the legislative activity of the Verkhovna Rada was criticized,” said people’s deputy of Ukraine Roman Zvarych at today parliamentary sitting. “If the level of the legislative activity was so bad, tell me please why should we preserve that scheme of parliamentary committees?” Zvarych addressed his question to the BYuT faction.
Roman Zvarych emphasized that two committees were to be preserved anyway. They are the VR committee on struggle against organized crime that has certain power and the VR committee on European integration issues that is involved in adaptation of our laws to the EU standards, the OU press office reported.
People’s deputy informed that the Our Ukraine faction would recall its bill in order to elaborate it and take into consideration the interests of pensioners and handicapped.
Mykola Tomenko (BYuT), in turns, said that his faction would never back the proposal to enlarge the number of the committees.
Before the voting, the VR deputies were to address the draft resolution. Then only 181 people’s deputies voted for the draft document (226 required).
