Ukraine signed a protocol on mutual access to markets of goods and services with Egypt within the  framework of its accession to the World Trade Organization. This was one the last protocols Ukraine has to sign to join the WTO, Cabinet's press office reported.

As the Economy Ministry press office told, signing the protocol was possible due to harmonization of the national legislation with norms and principles of the WTO in the sphere of services, liberalization of tariff policies and bringing the Ukrainian legislation on technical barriers and sanitary and phytosanitary norms in compliance with the agreements of the Uruguay Round of Multilateral Trade Negotiations.

Ukraine started negotiations on joining the WTO in 1997. Presently, the talks have been completed with 47 member-states of the WTO accession working group. Negotiations into adjusting technical aspects of signing the protocols are underway with three more nations.
