On May 30, Kateryna Yushchenko attended a reception held by the Philadelphia World Affairs Council and Ukrainian Human Rights Committee, the president press office informed.
The First Lady presented projects carried out by the Ukraine 3000 Foundation. She particularly focused on the Hospital to Hospital program, which is intent to improve health care for children in Ukraine and involves America's medical and educational institutionsin helping Ukrainian children.
The President’s wife said her foundation was now raising funds to build a center for maternal and child health in Kyiv.
“We want to be able to treat Ukrainian kids in Ukraine but we need a modern medical center for that. It is impossible to create it without the support of Ukrainians in Ukraine and abroad. We also urge you to help us build Eastern Europe’s most modern medical facility for children to treat pathologies which are still incurable and inoperable in our country,” she said.
Kateryna Yushchenko is visiting the United States of America to meet with American businessmen, public leaders and doctors.
