In 2006 Ukraine schedules to hold six multinational exercises including the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The press office of the Foreign Ministry has revealed the plan: Ukrainian-British “Tight Knot-2006,” Ukraine-US Transport Aviation Exercises “Combined Effort-2006,” Ukrainian-Moldavian “South-2006,” Slovakia-Ukraine Motorized Infantry Tactic Manoeuvres, Multinational Exercises “Sea Breeze-2006,” Ukrainian-British-Polish “Kozak Steppe-2006.”
These exercises are aimed at increase of the combat training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and achievement of mutual combinability with the NATO-countries’ units by means of reformations within the social-economic, military and technical standards.
The exercises mentioned above will be held only after corresponding approval of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
