Ukraine briefly set aside preparations for the World Cup to officially confirm their joint candidature with neighbours Poland to stage Euro 2012.
The joint bid is one of three bids to stage the continental tournament, with a decision due to be made in December, Sportinglife informed.
Italy have also bid for the tournament while Hungary and Croatia have teamed up in another joint bid for the tournament.
The bid was formally lodged at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland by representatives of both countries who have high hopes of co-staging the event.
