Ukraine’s Industrial Policy Ministry is drafting a long-term program to make helicopters at the AVIANT aircraft works in Kyiv, Deputy Industrial Policy Minister Viktor Baranchuk told.
Though it was precisely Ukraine that happened to be a cradle of helicopter manufacture, the nation has no large-scale facilities to make rotary-wing aircraft, the Cabinet press office informs.
The program's R&D stage will cost at least $2 million and the entire program's implementation is estimated approximately in the amount of $20 million.
Baranchuk stresses that the biggest problem is to find potential eligible investors.
If private investors do not pay their attention to the project, the program will have to rely on the Ukrainian Investment Company's support, the Deputy Minister said.
