Energoatom President Yuri Nedashkovsky reckons the construction of wind farms is rather inexpedient project for Ukraine. He has revealed it Tusday at the press conference.

“I’d call it an economic folly,” commented Nedashkovsky.

According to him, the construction of power plants of that kind does not warrant itself in Ukraine and demands supporting thermoelectric power stations because “it is impossible to guarantee constant wind (1million wind kwh needs to be provided with 1 million thermal kwh.)”

German wind farms generate only 4% out of the total amount of the electric power, Nedashkovsky mentioned.

“I think it is a dead-end for Ukraine,” concluded Energoatom President.
