Victor Yushchenko has met with Crimean Speaker Anatoly Hrytsenko.

They discussed candidates for premiership, who are confirmed by the Crimean Verkhovna Rada. The President accepted Anatoly Burdyugov’s resignation and supported Victor Plakida, Director of the Ukrenergo Crimean System.

Plakida, who was present at the meeting, outlined his vision of the autonomy’s economic development, the president press office informs.  

Then they discussed social and economic problems of the republic, land issues and preparations for the summer season.

President Yushchenko and Hrytsenko are both convinced that relations between Crimea and Kyiv should be mutually beneficial. They believe it will help promote regional development and resolve social and economic problems throughout the country.

Secretariat Chief of Staff Oleh Rybachuk was also present at the meeting.
