Victor Yushchenko has met with Roy Blunt, House Majority Whip, and Steny Hoyer, House Democratic Whip.

They discussed relations between Ukraine and the United States and the current situation in our country. The Head of State said building constructive relations with the United States was one of the priorities for our foreign ministry. He then reiterated that Ukraine would not change its political course when its new government and majority were formed.

The congressmen said they hoped our countrieswould continue developing strategic partnership, which “was given new stimuli after the repeal of the Jackson-Vanik amendment and when Ukraine was recognized as a market economy.”

Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk and First Deputy Chief of Staff Ivan Vasyunyk were present at the meeting.
