58% of Ukrainian citizens’ income per a member of a family is less than the cost of living, the Social Protection Department Halyna Holeusova told Monday at the pres conference. “There are lots of components left unaccounted: lodging expense, education and so on,” opined Holeusova adding that 28.7% of Ukrainian citizens are officially declared poor.
The Trade Unions Federation of Ukraine has announced about the All-Ukrainian Protest Action which would be held on May 24. The decision to hold the protest has been caused by the tariff increase for gas and electricity passed by the National Commission Regulating the Electroenergetics on May 1, 2006.
