On May 19 in Kyiv the Ukrainian segment of the GUAM Interstate Informational Analytical System opened. In the segment the Interdepartmental Group of Ukraine in the GUAM Virtual Centre for struggle against terrorism, organized criminality, drug circulation and other crimes will work.
The GUAM Virtual Centre will assist law enforcement authorities of Georgia , Ukraine , Azerbaijan and Moldova in establishing cooperation in particular by means of real time exchanging online information for the purpose of counteraction to challenges and threats of international terrorism, organized crime and other dangerous crimes of international nature.
Launching the Ukrainian segment of the Virtual Centre is a specific practical step in achievement of the GUAM cooperation goals as well as the result of joint work of the GUAM states and the USA , experts from Lithuania , Romania , Bulgaria and Hungary .
The Virtual Centre in the capital of Ukraine was opened on the eve of important events, the GUAM Summit in Kyiv on May 23 and transformation of this Union of friendly countries into an international regional organization, the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development – GUAM.
