Shakhtar Donetsk, newly-crowned Ukrainian champions, have extended coach Mircea Lucescu's contract by two years, Guardian reported reffering to Reuters.
Lucescu had a year left on his existing contract. The club's website said Shakhtar president Rinat Akhmetov, Ukraine's wealthiest business magnate, "has repeatedly said that he sees the team's future strictly with Lucescu".
Shakhtar defeated Dynamo Kiev 2-1 in extra time last weekend in a "golden match" to decide this year's title. The two teams finished equal on points at the end of the season.
