Today, May 18, the Donetsk regional council has made a
decision to grant the status of the regional language to Russia within the
region. 115 out of 133 registered deputies voted for this decision.
In accordance with the resolution, the Russian language may be used “on the territory of Donetsk region along with the state Ukrainian language as a language of paper work, documentation, communication, state and public bodies, enterprises and organizations, and also as a language of education, science and culture,” UNIAN reported.
