Chernihiv frontier guards have detained 16 illegal immigrants on Russian-Ukrainian frontier, Ukraine’s State Frontier Service press office reports.

The group consisted of six Palestinians, five Somali citizens, three Egyptians and two Bangladesh citizens. They passed from Novy Yurkovychi village by Volkswagen owned by Chernihiv resident.

The arrested immigrants had legally entered Russia by tourist visas, but then they were formed in one group and sent to Ukraine. No IDs were found. The frontier guards found only torn foreign passports.

The guide accompanying the group ran away. The investigation is underway.
