In an interview with Inter TV channel, Victor Yushchenko said Ukrainian politicians should promote the reconciliation of the Red Soviet Army and the Ukrainian Revel Army.
“I think politicians should definitely be conscious of their responsibility for the past, national peace and harmonization of relations among the war veterans,” he said, President's press office reported.
The Head of State opined that the best thing the government could do for the veterans was to restore justice and give the URA warriors social privileges.
“I think this will be the second step of understanding for the people that fought fascism and fought for Ukraine and so have the moral and historical right to enjoy such rights,” he said.
