Ukraine is interested in the construction of the Iran-Armenia gas main, Ukrainian Ambassador to Armenia Alexander Bozhko told reporters.
“At present, any country of the world, including Ukraine, is interested in alternative sources of energy,” Bozhko said.
According to him, Ukraine is carrying out measures, including negotiations with Iran, aimed at the construction of a gas main in Ukraine, Arka informs.
“However, the construction of the pipeline requires huge investments, and some kind of `dependence’ of the project on large European investors and banks is obvious at this point,” Bozhko said.
The construction of the Iran-Armenia gas main is estimated at $120mln. The construction is expected to be completed in 2007.
