May 20 will be the Day of Europe in Ukraine, the Chief of Foreign Ministry press service Vasyl Filipchuk told at today briefing.
It will be the fourth time such event to take place in Ukraine. “But this year its level and calibre will meet the standards of EU-Ukraine relationship. The radio address of the President Yushchenko will be dedicated to this event as well,” stated Filipchuk.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Tarasyuk will take part in the celebrity.
“The European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso is due to address to Ukrainian citizens. The activities promoting Ukraine’s foreign policy within the Day of Europe will be carried out in all regions of Ukraine: Zaporizhzhya, Kharkiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovs’k and others,” stressed Filipchuk.
The main target of the celebrity is to make the EU priorities, standards and values closer to common Ukrainians and to explain why European integration is so important for Ukraine.
