Accompanied by Ukraine's Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk and Secretariat Chief of Staff Oleh Rybachuk, Victor Yushchenko has gone to Lithuania to take part in a Heads of State Summit “Common Vision for Common Neighborhood”, President's press office reported.

Its participants are going to discuss prospects of democracy in Eastern Europe, the role of new democracies in continental stability, and potential mechanisms of Euro-Atlantic integration. 

Yushchenko’s speech, Matching Membership Ambitions with Membership Criteria: Challenges Ahead, will focus on Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations, challenges facing new democracies, and the country’s cooperation with the European Union and NATO after the March 26 elections.

He will meet face-to-face with Presidents Valdas Adamkus of Lithuania, Arnold Ruutel of Estonia, Mikhail Saakashvili of Georgia, Vladimir Voronin of Moldova, Lech Kaczynski of Poland, Traian Basescu of Romania, EU Council Secretary General Javier Solana, and U.S. Vice-President Dick Cheney.

Yushchenko is also expected to visit Vilnius University to ceremonially open a Taras Shevchenko auditorium.
