In Riga, Victor Yushchenko has met with Vineta Muizniece, Deputy Speaker of Latvia’s Parliament (Saeima).
They discussed ways to develop Ukrainian-Latvian relations and establish closer ties between the Verkhovna Rada and the Saeima. Mr. Yushchenko spoke about Ukraine’s post-election politics. Ms. Muizniece told him Latvia would also conduct parliamentary elections this fall, the president press office informs.
Then she said her country supported and welcomed our Euro-Atlantic aspirations and promised to help us on this path.
Victor Baloha, Ukraine’s Emergency Minister, Yuriy Polyachenko, Health Minister, Raul Chilachava, Ukrainian Ambassador to the Republic of Latvia, and Tymofiy Motrenko, State Service Head, were present at the meeting.
