President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko considers that parliamentary majority will be formed in June and, accordingly, work will be underway on formation of new parliament. As President’s press office reported, Yushchenko declared it at a meeting with students and professors of the Latvian University.

“The talks that are now being held make me hopeful that the majority and later our new government will be formed by the end of June,” he said, adding that newly-elected parliamentarians had two months for that.

He explained that according to legislation currently in force the first session of the Verkhovna Rada of the fifth convocation should take place during 30 days from the day of publication of the official election results. Then, during 30 days a parliamentary majority should be formed, and another month is given for formation of new government.
