The agreement on transportation of the nuclear material form Bulgaria to Russia via Ukraine has been signed Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Economy and Energy Jordan Dimov, Deputy Chief of the Russian Federal Atomic Energy Sergey Antipov and the Chairman of Ukraine’s State Committee on Atomic Management Olena Mykolajchuk.
The signed agreement must be ratified by Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The nuclear material will move via Ukraine by railway: from Izmail port till Khutor Mykhajlivsky. The sides guarantee safe transportation. In case of accident Russia and Bulgaria will compensate the damages.
Mykolajchuk stressed that since the Soviet time Ukraine has provided such service for these countries and there have never been any accidents.
