Foreign Minister of Canada Peter McKay declared that
Canada would allocate seven million dollars for building a new shelter for the
fourth unit of Chornobyl APP, UNIAN informed.
On the whole, the sum of Canadian means for liquidation of Chornobyl disaster’s consequences and related projects has reached more than 58 mln dollars, according to McKay’s data.
By the 20th anniversary of Chornobyl accident the government of Canada expressed solidarity to Ukrainian people, to all families suffered from the catastrophe.
The cost of the new shelter is estimated at 50 mln USD.
April 26th of this year marks the 20th anniversary of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant accident.
