German experience of conduct of coalition negotiations last year proves that this process is rather complicated and needs time, as noted President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko in a telephone talk with Germany’s Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

They discussed ways to forge closer ties between the two countries. The Head of State said he hoped the new German government would build mutually beneficial relations with the democratic Ukraine.

Yushchenko and Steinmeier also spoke about the March 26 election and its effects. The President promised to spare no effort to build a parliamentary coalition and later form Ukraine’s new government. He added that last year’s coalition talks in Germany showed that the process was really complicated and time-consuming.

The talk took place  on initiative of the German party.
