In a Saturday radio address, Victor Yushchenko wished the nation a Happy Easter.
“I want the joy of Easter to come to every house and every family and fill your souls and hearts with hope,” he said.
The President said the Christian faith was an integral part of our daily life and one of the fundamentals of our unity: “No matter what confession we belong to and what church services we attend, our spiritual traditions unite us.”
The Head of State urged Ukrainians to be respectful and forgiving, claiming that Easter was the best day for reevaluation and understanding.
“In Ukraine, Easter has always been celebrated merrily. So I wish you rich Easter feasts and want Easter bells to fill you hearts with joy and inspiration,” he said.
