China is due to send a delegation to Ukraine to attend the planned commemorations of the 20th Chernobyl Anniversary, Gao Yusheng Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine told Wednesday.

“April 26th of this year marks the 20th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident. Tang Wensheng, vice chairman of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, has been invited by the Ukrainian authorities, to lead a delegation to attend ceremonies being held to mark the event," the Ambassador said, Crienglish quoted.

The aid will be offered in the amount of "at least 10 million Yuan, or over 1 million US dollars," Mr. Yusheng stressed.

As it became known, the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko invited Chinese President Hu Jintao to pay official visit to Ukraine. China extended the similar invitation to President Yushchenko.


Since China and Ukraine established diplomatic relations in 1992, the bilateral cooperation has developed rapidly.
