Ukraine's economy ministry has submitted to the Cabinet a draft decree providing for an annual raw sugar import quota of 260,000 metric tons, the government press office reported Wednesday, quoting economy minister Sergey Romanyuk.
Romanyuk said the quota was necessitated by the conditions of Ukraine's World Trade Organization accession negotiations with Australia, TMCnet reports.
He added Ukrainian negotiators had managed to get the quota reduced from Australia's original insistence on 460,000 tons.
