The World Bank is ready to give Ukraine $250-300 million a year in 2006 and 2007 to finance energy saving projects in Ukraine, Paul Bermingham, the World Bank country director for Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova, said in an interview with the Economicheskiye Izvestia newspaper, Interfax-Ukraine informed.

It is necessary to introduce energy saving technologies more aggressively in Ukraine, and the World Bank is ready to allot $250-300 million in 2006 and 2007 respectively, he said.

However, he said there was an urgent need to encourage companies to invest in energy saving, as the finance from international organizations is "a drop in the ocean."
