Among the priorities of Health Ministry’s purchase
pack with the framework of financing the program of fighting HIV/AID and TB are
expensive medical equipment and medications.
According to Health Minister Yuri Polyachenko, the Ministry addressed the World Bank with a request to revise the composition of purchase pack. Polyachenko reminded that the financing of the program had been stopped by mutual agreement of the parties (WB and HM) as the purchase pack consisted mainly of computers, office furniture and other equipment, but not medications.
The Minister noted that a special commission started
working to introduce necessary changes within a month. “The World Bank
expressed its understanding of the issue,” said Polyachenko, ForUm’s
corresponding reported.
