April 13, President Victor Yushchenko met with PM Yuri Yekhanurov, Finance Minister Victor Pynzenyk, Economy Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk, NBU Chairman Volodymyr Stelmakh, Tax Office Head Oleksandr Kireyev, and First Deputy Chief of Staff Ivan Vasyunyk.
In the course of the meeting, the main attention was paid to the issues related to Ukraine’s macroeconomic and budget policies. Having analyzed the current macroeconomic situation, budget risks that might destabilize the national economy, the President urged to find ways and tools to implement this year’s budget and assume measures for macroeconomic stability in Ukraine.
The same day, President Victor Yushchenko also held a meeting with Fauzi Bensarsa, European Commission Energy Adviser, tospeak about Ukraine’s energy policy. They also discussed ways to extend the Odesa-Brody Oil pipeline to the Polish city of Plock and diversify European energy supplies.
Ukraine’s Energy Minister Ivan Plachkov attended the meeting.
