“It is ineffective to pay a visit in this situation,” said Chernomyrdin and underlined that Ukrainian and Russian parties had a number of questions to discuss. The ambassador noted that subcommissions of Intergovernmental commission Yushchenko-Putin continued their work.
According to Chernomyrdin, the formation of intergovernmental commission under the direction of Presidents was an important step. “It is the first case in the history of our states when commission is headed by President,” reminded the ambassador and added that Vladimir Putin responded to Yushchenko’s request and headed the governmental commission.
