
The Chernobyl aftermath still covers the territory of Ukraine, Russia and Belarus measuring over 145 thousand square kilometres. The radiation pollution stretches over five thousand settlement, Ukraine’s Vice-PM Stanislav Stashevsky reported Wednesday at the session of the Cabinet.
2.245 million Chernobyl’s victims live in Ukraine. There are 105,000 invalids and 463,000 children out of this number, Stashevsky added.
According to data, the financing of the measures aimed at the liquidation of Chernobyl aftermath made 7% out of total budget tax funds for the last years.
