Accompanied by Vasyl Stashuk, Head of the State Water Economy Committee, and Victor Baloha, Ukraine’s Emergency Minister, Victor Yushchenko has inspected one of the Tysa River dams, which protects sevenvillages and Chop town, the president press office.
Stashuk told the President they were going to reconstruct a 6.4-kilometer sectionof the 18-kilometerdam this year. The reconstruction will cost UAH 8.4 mln and will be carried out in accordance with the 2006-2015 State Anti-Flood Program.
