Russia has not yet responded to Ukraine’s proposal to audit Ukrainian meat enterprises, Ukrainian Veterinary Inspector Ivan Bisyuk told.

Ukraine’s Veterinary Service sent a letter to Russian authorities at the instance of Ukrainian milk and meat producers a week ago. The letter read about willingness of Ukrainian producers to be checked by Russian auditors.

However, Russia gave no answer to the letter, Bisyuk reported.

Earlier, Russian auditors were due to check Ukrainian enterprises but failed to do it. “We wait them, we have invited them again. According to the preliminary agreement, the auditors were scheduled to inspect about ten meat-processing enterprises,” stressed Bisyuk. Russian inspectors still have right to choose what enterprises would be checked.

As a reminder, Russia banned export of Ukrainian cattle-breeding production on January 20, 2006.
