Kateryna Yushchenko visited an exhibition of paintings by Mykhailo Vrubel in Kyiv’s Russian Art Museum, the press office of the President reports. It features about 150 oil paintings, drawings, watercolors and sculptures created by the artist in his ‘Kyiv period.’ “The girl sitting in front of the Persian carpet” is the most well-knownpainting ofall exhibited works.

This year Ukraine is marking Vrubel’s 150th birthday. Most of his paintings can be seen in Kyiv. Mykhailo Vrubel also painted frescos at the St. Volodymyr Cathedral and the Cyryl Church.

The exhibition will last untill April 25. Then the museum will publish a book “Vrubel and Kyiv.”
