Victor Yushchenko met with Vuk Drašković, Serbia and Montenegro Minister for Foreign Affairs.

The President said our political, trade and humanitarian relations were dynamically developing but still insisted that the two countries should forge closer economic ties. He added that the bilateral intergovernmental commission should formulate a 2006-2007 action plan at its meeting to start some mutually beneficial projects. Mr. Yushchenko also suggested that Ukraine should hold a festival of Serbian and Montenegrin culture and invite more students as a member of the Bologna process.

Mr. Drašković, in turns, urged Ukrainian businessmen tointensify investment in markets of Serbia and Montenegro.

Then the President said the two countries shared the ambition to join the European Union.

Ukraine's Health Minister Yuriy Polyachenko, First Deputy Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko , Ukraine’s Ambassador to Serbia and Montenegro Anatoly Oliynyk and Serbia and Montenegro Ambassador to Ukraine Goran Aleksić attended the meeting.
