Japan’s government grants $2.6 million for Ukraine to overcome the economic difficulties. March 15, the corresponding agreement was signed by Ukraine’s Economy Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk and Japanese Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Ukraine Mutsuo Mabuchi. The funds are aimed at financing Ukrainian import within the structural reformation of the national economy.
The bill of goods will be set by the governments of Ukraine and Japan. Money will be transferred to the Partner Fund and then will be spent on economical and social development of Ukraine.
The grant is a part of the official Japan’s assistance for the development of Ukraine.
The total sum of Japanese aid has made $141.7 million. The previous $0.9-million grant was aimed at industrial modernization and implantation of the Kyoto Protocol mechanisms which will be given to June 30, 2007.
