In Sumy, Victor Yushchenko visited Sumkhimprom, one of Ukraine's leading chemical enterprises employing more than six thousand people.Together with the Sumkhimprom Chairman of the Board, Mykola Trofymenko, the President watched its workers manufacture super phosphate - a fertilizer produced by the action of concentrated sulfuric acid on ground phosphate rock, and then asked the people if they were satisfied with social security programs carried out at their enterprise, the President press office reported.

Victor Yushchenko met with chemical industry workers.

The President called on those present to formulate their proposals within seven days and then jointly work out a development concept for the industry. In a week, it will be approved during a special meeting at the State Secretariat.

The Chief of State opined that the concept should definemeans of rationally using raw materials and their alternatives.

Then they summed up 2005 results of the industry and discussed ways to develop it, particularly by introducing energy efficient technologies.

Agricultural Minister Oleksandr Baranivsky, Industrial Minister Volodymyr Shandra, Deputy Chief of Staff Anatoly Matviyenko and Sumy Governor Nina Garkova took part in the meeting.
