Victor Yushchenko met with EU Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner, President's press office informed.
They discussed Ukraine’s EU and WTO integration and
considered ways to sign a free trade agreement between Ukraine and the
European Union. The Head of State said he was glad our relations had
been developing quite dynamically since 2005 but added that we still
wanted to forge closer ties with the Union.
Yushchenko stressed Ukrainian government spared no effort to conduct transparent and democratic elections this March and pledged to observe OSCE norms and standards.
