Opening today session of the Cabinet, Ukraine PM Yuri Yekhanurov urges central and regional authorities must do everything for energy saving.
According to him, Ukraine needs to diversify the structure of natural resources usage because of extremely high gas consumption of Ukraine – it is in the top ten of the most power-consuming world countries.
“All what we have done earlier may settle only tactical problem but now we need to treat the situation globally,” noted PM Yekhanurov.
He noticed today Ukraine has spent 286 million cubic metres of gas but it is lower than previous index (300-400 million c.)
“I do not know words to characterize our gas consumption when it jumps up to 400 million cubic metres per day,” concluded Yuri Yekhanurov.
