National energy management commission initiates cancellation of necessity to agree increase of prices for electric power for population with trade unions, as reported Valery Kalchenko, head of the commission.

He noted that the agreement between Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and inter-branch trade unions, which obliges to agree the increase of gas and electric power prices for population with trade unions, was signed in 2004-2005 years. Presently, a new agreement for 2006-2007 is being prepared.

“We offer trade unions to withdraw this demand from the agreement in order not to politicize this issue and to explain the reason of price increase to the population,” said he.

Kalchenko informed that National energy management commission discusses this question with inter-branch trade unions and “if this demand is seized, it will give us an opportunity to increase price for electric power to economically grounded level.”
