Ukraine has found prepayment for Turkmen gas supply for 2006 to the sum of $88 million, Foreign Ministry spokesman Vasyl Filipchuk told.
“Despite this fact, none of cubic metres have been received by Ukraine on the border Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan in accordance with the contract in 2006,” said Filipchuk.
According to Filipchuk, Ukraine acknowledged $77.4-million debt for the previous supply.
“This sum is still unpaid because of the lack of the coordination concerning the commodity classification of Ukraine-Turkmenistan barter. The second reason caused the debts is the slow paper work by Turkmen custom officials,” noted Filipchuk.
